This Saturday May 30th starting at 10am PST I’ll be taking part in a stream with a bunch of great musicians like @jasondevore, @treverkeithofficial @nathenmaxwell @staceysrad @justinsane @matthensley22 and many others where we’ll be highlighting the amazing work being done by the good people at Punk Rock Saves Lives. Here’s a song from it I wrote called “Alien” about how incredibly cold us humans can treat each other at times. Some of the guys in Blink-182 and Unwritten law back in the day were very concerned that the aliens were going to invade us one day and I always thought if aliens were intelligent enough to time travel to another galaxy, why would they want to come here? This place can be exceedingly cruel. If they do show up they should “leave now” before our toxic atmosphere turns their slick machines to rust. It was a sad and depressing song but it was how I felt at the time. I never thought the other guys would want it on the album but they did and the local radio station started playing it. Some of my best friends said point blank that they hated this song. Some people love it. I believe what Andy Warhol said is true, you make art - and some people are either going to love it or hate it, and while they are deciding - you make even more art. That’s what I’m doing. @punkrocksaveslives
