Ethan Hunt ( Tom Cruise ) が使った、in と on に注目してください

「もう飛行機には乗ったか？」
B : Not in the plane. I’m on the plane.
「まだinじゃない。onだ！」

しかし、on the plane / on a plane という表現は自然ですよね？
それは、やっぱり普通は機内を意味します。
