６．感染防止の為、多くの学校で、卒業式等の行事は取り止めとなり、5月初めまで休校の措置がとられている。
⇒ 感染防止ということは、人々に病気になってほしくないということ。
この場合特に『学校が』『生徒に』病気になってほしくないので、語を補って
・Schools do not want their students to get sick.
・Schools do not want thier students to get the coronavirus.
新聞調に言うと、
・To avoid the spread of the corvid-19 (コーヴィッドナインティーンと読む。=coronavirus のこと）
『卒業式等の行事は取りやめとなり』
卒業式はgraduation ceremony。
取りやめになるということは、そもそもその行事を開催しないこと。have で言うと
・Schools do not have (any) graduation ceremonies.
・Graduation ceremonies are not held.
・There will be no graduation ceremonies.
取りやめということは、キャンセルなので
・Graduation ceremonies were canceled at most schools.
取りやめということは、生徒の立場で考えると、参加できないので、
・Students could not attend graduation ceremonies at many schools.
・Students wanted to go to school for the graduation ceremony, but they couldn't because of the coronavirus.
『5月初めまで休校の措置がとられている』
休校の措置がとられる、ということは、生徒は学校に行けないということなので、
・Students can't go to school.
・Students can't go to school until May.
・Students can't go to school until early May.
・Students can't go to school until the beginning of May.
５月初めとは、具体的に考えると、ゴールデンウィーク明けなら、５月５日・６日辺りなので、
・All the students can't go to school until May 5th or 6th.
こうすると、early May や、the beginning of を使えなくても言える。英作（英会話）で大事なのは、『自分で言うんだ』という強い意志である。
休校ということは、have で考えると、学校がないので
・Students do not have school until May 5th or 6th or (maybe later).
休校ということは、学校で授業がないので
・Schools do not have classes until the beginning of May.
休校ということは、学校自体を閉めるので
・Schools are closed until early May.

まとめて言うと

『感染防止』『取りやめ』『休校』等、何と言うのかわからない時、大抵人は辞書を引いたり、スマホで調べる。
そこで、調べるのではなく、あえて頭の体操と思って、自分でそれらの日本語を考えてみる。
遊びがてら、そういった日本語を自分の頭で考えて見ると、意外と自分の知っている英語で言えることに気づく。
そうすると、遠い存在だった英語が少しずつ自分に身近なものとなるだろう。
