"Watasuge", Eriophorum vaginatum. subsp. fauriei, ワタスゲ 綿菅

Watasuge is widely distributed in the northern hemisphere and there are several spicies.

It is a plant that grows in middle and hight-rise wetland that are decreasing nationwide.

There are many precious wetland in the vicinity.

This white thing is not a flower but a hair attached to the fruit.

So, it is not "full-flowering", but it is "full-fruition" !

This is a bumper year for Watasuge.

Wetlands here and there are white as in this picture.

On the other hand, last year, it was really shabby.

For those only saw it in a bumper year, it must be a situation that they say " What is this!?"

Going to see natural things requires some luck !.
