Even if that, we can’t really speak English. And, R sounds are difficult for me to pronounce. And I can’t hear the difference between R and L. One of the reason, we can live just only speaking Japanese. Secondly, english teacher focuses just only testing. And, the pronunciations are totally different between English and Japanese. There are many of “katakana English” that Macdonalds is “makudonarudo”, credit card is “kurejitto ka-do”, serious is “shiriasu”. Those katakana English get often in the way of correct pronunciation. English language has a lot of sounds than Japanese language. No R sounds in Japanese. If you want to learn English in Japan, it’s important to make environmental of English. I guess it’s difficult to do. #journal #english #japanese #R #sound #pronounce #katakana #japanglish #dassai #kai A post shared by Shingo Kai (甲斐 慎吾) (@skybox_english) on Jun 4, 2020 at 6:35pm PDT
