I tend not to write or speak too much about the current news and society as much.

And, what is happening today has been changing every day since Memorial day, so I have been thinking about should I write or not including the timing to do so.

If I try to put the information together, it will be a lot of information so I decided not to do so.

I also won't use articles this time either.

I think everyone knows the current situations from need even a little bit.

My family consists of my husband, who is African American, and our two children.

Not only the case of George Floyd in Minnesota, Ahmaud Aubrey in Georgia, and countless of other cases are not someone else's situation to us, our family.

For my husband, our kids who will be teens soon, and for myself, having all three of them as a family.

Including my husband's families, friends, acquaintances, kids friends, my friends and families. This is not something we can  be unrelatable.

Please imagine this.

Your husband or you children, who left the house this morning as usual, was stopped by a police while driving.

Just because of the traffic light or car's light not working.

They were stopped just because of these reasons.

But they were murdered by police officers, although they didn't even have any weapons with them.

Maybe, some people think that same doesn't happen in Japan like America, because Japan has a very strict rules with gun possession and police does not react like here in America.

And, maybe you would think that probably the person made a strange move and that happened.

Or, because they did something wrong/bad and stopped by the police to start with.

I used to think the same way a long time ago.

They must have done something.

Sure, there would be some cases like that, can't say there is none.

However, people who are completely innocent get killed because of police officers, who have some power in the society, just because of the officers' way of thinking, discriminations, and stereotypical judgement. And not only that, the officers who made that judgement and took actions would not be charged. This pattern had been happening repeatedly for countless of times.

If this happens in Japan on a daily basis, how would you think?

If your family was judged just because they look different (could be their complexion, hair texture) killed by police officers, and these officers would not be charged?

George Floyd

In George Floyd's case, he was already cuffed and under police's custody, but he was killed by the police.

What kind of threat can a cuffed person have to the police officers with guns?

Everyone here are fed up of this situation, no matter the race is; we are fed up of the society where same things are repeated over and over again.

That is true that some peaceful protests became violent.

Many places put curfew for night time.

Atlanta is one of them.

Some people who joined the protests were actually racists, and these people were causing violence in some cases.

There were some people with bad intention, originally thought about getting violent, from the stress of lock down and so forth.

Some were joining from out of the states too.

In other cases, police officer actually started the looting.

People are reporting that there were concrete bricks piled on the place where protests were planned.

Many businesses that were not directly related to the situations are being targeted of looting and it was escalating.

Destructions and looting should not be justified and that does not solve the situations.

But not all these ex-officers who were involved in the case were arrested, and even with the arrested one, the charge they put on him was not matching with what he actually did.

(After I posted this article, all 4 of them were arrested.)

How far does this need to go to end.

The politics and laws are also involved, but their actions are taking too long.

Racisms and police brutality should not exist. But that is true that the issue has deep roots and layers of different problems.

Nonetheless, this problem must be resolved.

Similar to the past history, maybe the goal cannot be achieved without the chaos.

If you live in the US, including us, please continue to stay safe.

Here's a post my husband was sharing. It's in English but I'd like to share here as well.
