As the world is still dealing with Covid-19, it is still
different and difficult for many of us to
spend "Normal" life. It has been 20 years, and I still would like to share
this story.....
今年も、まだまだ世界中ではコロナの影響を受けて
中々「普通」に生活をするのが簡単には
行かなくなってます。そして20年が経ちましたが、
やはりこの日の起きた事は
皆さんとシェアさせていただきたいです。

Every year on this day (9-11),
I remind myself
what had happened to us in writing.
(毎年、この日９-１１は
20年前の事件に
遭遇した時の事を書いています。)
If you wish not to remember,
please do not read further.
(思い出したくない方は

下記は毎年過去の記事からになります。

It has been already 20 years
since I last saw
World Trade Center Twin Towers were
still standing through beautiful fall cloudless
blue sky of Manhattan.
(雲一つない青空にそびえ立つ
世界貿易センターのツインタワーを
最後に見てから
もう20年が経ちました。)
Every year on this day,
I would be reminded
what had happened by watching
and hearing of names announced
throughout the morning.
(9月11日の朝になると
毎年2001年に何が起きたのか
犠牲者の名前を呼ぶセレモニーで
思い出されます。)
When my friends' names,
Fire Fighters, Police officers
who put their lives on line to save
the others are called by
their family members on TV,
I still get teary eyes....
(友人知人の名前、
あの日人々の命を救おうと
自分を犠牲にした消防士や警官らの名前を
遺族が呼んでいる映像を見ると
涙ぐみます。)
As I am sure
just about everyone had seen and heard
about the stories on 9-11-2001 with
some programs,
I do not have to remind anyone
about the whole incident.
So, I will leave out most of the details.
(この時期になると皆さんは
あの日何が起こったのかを
映像など様々な形でご覧になると思うので
あえて詳しくはもう語らないようにします)
But I remember.....
(ただ、今でも思い出す・・・・)
Beautiful blue sky,
(晴れ渡る青空、)
Heard a large explosion near by,
(物凄い爆発音、)
Could not get a hold of customers
and friends over at Tower 1 and 2,
(ワールドトレードセンターにいる客や
友人と連絡が取れない、)
Saw 2nd plane hit,
(2機目がタワー２に突っ込んだ！)
One of the engins from the 2nd plane
hit 9th flower of our building!
（２機目のエンジンが、私がいたオフィスの
９階に突っ込んできた！）
Being evacuated,
(避難命令、)
Seeing many fire trucks and
fighters who is getting ready to battle,
(ビルの目の前には
沢山の消防車と消防士たち、)
Walking home,
(徒歩で家路に、)
About a half way to my apt,
everyone on the street
facing Twin Tower yelling "Oh-- NO---!!",
(家路の途中にて
道端の人々が南の方向を見ながら
「オーノー」と悲鳴を、)
Tower 2 fell!
(タワー２が倒壊!)
As I kept waliking away from WTC,
I felt uneasiness to all the emotions that
I couldn't express in words.
(ワールドトレードセンターとは反対方向へ
歩いていた私は、何とも言いようのない
気持ちでした。)
When I opened my apt door,
live video of Tower 1 came down on TV.
(帰宅して直ぐに
TVの映像でタワー１が倒壊)
Seeing my 3 months old son's
sleeping face for a few min,
(生後3ヶ月の息子の寝顔を
しばらくながめた、)
Called my mom in Japan to
let her know I was OK.
(日本の実家へ連絡をして
母へ無事を知らせる、)
These memories are very vivid to me.
I do not plant to forget them.
(今でもこれらの順番で
この日の出来事は覚えている。
そして忘れるつもりも無い。)
I also will never forget facial expression
of those fire fighters
that I saw out side the office building.
(そして非難する時にビルの前にいた
沢山の消防士の表情も忘れられない。)
They were getting
heavy equipments on them.
At that time,
were they just worried about the walk up
100+ story building??
(様々な消化活動、
救助に必要な機材を身に付けながら
彼らはいったい何を思っていたのだろうか、
100階以上あるビルを階段で上る事？)
Or were they wondering
if they were going to.......
(もしくは
今日が彼らにとっての......)
I wonder
if they made it out on that day....
(私の見た彼らは無事だったのだろうか...)
I hope they did...
(そうあってもらいたい...)
It was their job and duty to save others,
but I would like to say simply
"Thank You for doing your JOB."
(彼らにとっては
救助活動をして人々を助けるのが仕事だが、
その事に対してただたんに
「ありがとう」と言わせて欲しい)
I also would like to thank
all of my relatives and friends
who were concerned about my well
being at that time.
(そしてあの日の事件以来
私を心配して
連絡を必死にしてくれた人々に
感謝の気持ちを込めて
「ありがとうございます」
と言わせていただきます)
I am wondering
what did we do so bad to make
some Muslims to attack the way they did....
(一体全体我々は何をして
ある一部のイスラム関連の人々を怒らせて
あんなテロをさせるように
してしまったのだろう・・・)
Cultural differences???
(文化の違い？？？)
Somewhat misunderstanding???
(価値観の違い？？？)
Or something that we would never understand???
(それとも我々には理解できない
何かがあるのか？？？)
I don't think
one or two simple songs can make differences,
but while you are listening to these songs,
you shall be relaxed
and not be thinking about war nor fighting.
So, I attached "Imagine" by John Lennon,
and "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong Jr.
(音楽で世界が変わるとは思えないけど
聞いてる間は争う気持ちや
戦う気分から少しだけ離れられると思うので
