「旧帝・国立大学医学部」受験対策講座（１）

　旧帝・国立大学医学部をめざす人はモデルがいない人が多い。東大、京大、阪大、名大合わせて合格者は１万人チョイ。ざっくり同学年が１００万人いて５０万人が大学に進学するわけだから、旧帝合格なんて１％強の超少数派。合格者は都市部に多いから、ここ三重県だと旧帝合格者は極めて稀な存在なんです。

 

　都市部の進学校なら同級生や先輩に旧帝合格者なんてザラにいるだろうから、いろいろ話が聞ける。しかし、私のような田舎モンは周囲に体験談が聞ける人はいなかった。１９７０年代だからネットもないし、田舎に予備校があるわけない。だから、試行錯誤しかなかった。模試もあんまりない時代だったし、共通テストもない一発勝負の時代だったね。

 

　塾や予備校、学校に頼るタイプの子は旧帝受験には向かないよ。自分の工夫で試行錯誤するしかない。できないなら旧帝など諦めた方がいい。

 

　Many people who aim for medical schools of old imperial and national universities do not have models. The total number of students who have passed the entrance examinations of the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Osaka University, and Nagoya University is a little over 10,000. There are roughly 1 million students in the same grade, and 500,000 of them go on to university, so the number of those who pass the entrance exam for the former imperial university is a very small minority, a little more than 1%. Because most of the successful applicants are in urban areas, it is extremely rare to find someone who has passed the entrance exam for the former imperial university here in Mie Prefecture.

　If you go to an advanced school in an urban area, it is very common to have classmates and seniors who have passed the entrance exam for the former imperial university, so you can hear many stories about them. However, for a countryman like me, there was no one around who could tell me about their experiences. So we had to do things by trial and error. There were not many mock exams, and there were no common tests, so it was a one-shot deal.

　The type of students who rely on cram schools 、 prep schools and schools aren't suited to take the entrance exam for the good universities. You have to use your own ingenuity and trial and error. If you can't do it, you should give up on the top universities.
