I continued making this paper cut artwork while I participated in the “Art Walk 2014” exhibition.
Maybe you know him well because their song called “To Be With You” in their 2nd album Lean Into It is a HUGE hit song, and you can see them on some morning TV programs in Japan.
[Working process]
I paid my attention to the cutting order to make the consequence process easy.
I cut the image of snare drums, then hi-hat cymbals.
Then cut the paper to make the shape of the outline of Pat’s shoulder to arm.
Add the cut line of the tam-tam and bass drum.
With the cymbals, you can easily imagine the whole image!
Next, the head and hair image.
I’m not irritating you, but cutting the paper carefully...

Done! Here’s the finished paper before framed.
I went to their shows three times, twice before Paul’s withdrawal, and once after their reunion with my parents.
The live shows in their 90’s were super cool that I can’t forget, though I was a kindergartener at that time.
To me, the concept of rock music derives directly from MR.BIG.
