Stress from study

2024-01-19 | 住まい関連

The citizenship test was crucial of all the tests I had taken so far,

so it was more stressful to compare.

It was far more important for me

than those I had ever taken,

such as the school’s midterm tests, entrance exams,

qualification tests, driving license tests,

and even the university's transfer exams.

My mental stress was getting heavier

as the test date comes closer.

We applied for citizenship about six months earlier,

but I had only three weeks to prepare

when the notice was delivered.

My study schedule was as follows;

Made a historical timeline and events.

Comprehending the political system and the Constitution.

Basic terms of legislation.

Geographical relations to politics.

I also classified the past questions

by categorically clipping them

and studying them steadily one by one.

Intensively, I went beyond the scope of past questions range,

otherwise, I would make mistakes during the test

or would be unsure what is the correct answer.

Anyway, I summarized all the categories

and wrote them down in my notebooks.

Drew the map of each State a few times

to memorize geographical location.

My husband gave some mock tests

so I could pick up my wrong answers to be correct.

As I was writing them in two notebooks to memorize,

my right hand fingers which were holding a pencil

began to feel ache.

The ache caused a nostalgic feeling

because the last time I felt such an ache was,

studied hard to pass the university exam,

at that time I kept writing until my fingers really hurt.

The stress upon the test,

it seemed like going to be squared

than I ever had felt before.

So I tried to focus on doubling my knowledge

that I needed to understand

rather than put myself under stressful pressure.

As we grow older, our memorizing ability is getting down

but the comprehensive capacity getting well.

So I tried to compensate for the decreased memorizing ability

by deepening my understanding.

My brain has definitely gotten worse,

but the good thing is I can recognize

how and what part has gone bad,

so I back up and upload them to strengthen.

In most cases, once the brain function gets worse,

make it better again taking a long period.

But I had to take the exam in a short period

whether my brain function was good or bad.

I had to focus on what I could do

rather than what I could not do.

If the brain becomes dull,

focus on what you can do

then it starts to work slowly.
