Here, I will introduce recommended spots for hiking with children in the United States. This time, I would like to tell you about a hike in Tallman Mountain Hudson River Overlook Trail in Sparkill, NY. It is located along the Hudson river and is a good hike for all ages because there isn’t much elevation. If you like climbing the mountain, it might be too easy. But you can see the gorgeous views of the Hudson River and the Piermont Marsh which is part of the Hudson River National Estuarine Research Reserve.
We went there in early March 2023. There was no ice on the trail at all. We came across very vocal frogs in a pond next to the trail. If you visit there during the warmer season, you might need to pay attention to bugs. There is also a bike path in the park, so please be careful when you cross it during hiking. During summer, they will open the pool. It will be a family activity place for all ages.
If you are hungry or want to explore around the park, Nyack might be an option. There are restaurants and small shops in the center of town. You might find something special. Personally, I enjoyed seeing the Foliage & Flora.

アメリカで、子連れハイキングのおすすめスポットを紹介していきます。今回はニューヨーク州スパーキルにある、トールマン・マウンテン州立公園にあるトレイルです。ハドソン川沿いにある公園内をあるく道なので、アップダウンはそんなにありません。山を登りたい人には、物足りなさを感じるでしょう。トイレは事務所近くにあるので、そこを利用してください。
私たちは3月に行きました。途中、池が二か所あり、たくさんの蛙の鳴き声をききました。虫が苦手な人は、暖かい季節に訪れることは避けた方がよさそうです。足場は比較的緩いところが多かったです。また、サイクリングをする人も多々いるので、公園内のメイン道路を横切る際は交通に気を付けてください。
良い点は、ハドソン川を真横でみれること、タッペンジーブリッジを遠くにみれること、子供でも容易にハイキングを短時間で楽しめる点だと思います。夏場は市民プールもあるみたいですよ。軽く体を動かしたい人は、ぜひ行ってみてください。
短いハイキングのあと、どこに行くか迷った人は、ナイアックまで足を運んでみてはいかがでしょうか？町の中心部は、小さなお店が並んでいます。カフェもありましたので、休憩がてら街を散策するものいいかもですね。
