皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today? 

さて、今日も一旦ひとり帰国日記を置いときまして、ミネソタの日常をお送りしたいと思います。
Okay today, let me put my Japan diary aside again and talk about my daily life in MN. 

3月最後の日はイースターでした。
The last day of March was Easter. 

我が家は特に宗教色の強い家族ではないのですが、何故かイースターには集まって家族タイムを持ちます。
My family is not religious at all, but we still gather on Easter and have some family time together. 

多分ちゃんとしたクリスチャンから見れば、全くイースターにやるべき事はしておらず、ただただ家族で集まって美味しいものを食べて、めいの為にエッグハントをするという感じです。
I assume that the way we celebrate Easter is not what's supposed to be for real Christians and all we do is gathering, eating desent food and doing egg hunt for May-chan. 

そして、イースターは何となく我が家でやるという習慣になっていて、今年も我が家にパパママ、ブラッド君が来てくれてお祝い？しました。
For some reason, we usually host the event at our house, so Dad&Mom and Brad came over to our house this year as usual. 

めいも準備万端！数年前に買ってずっと忘れていたうさぎの耳、今年になってようやく出してきました。(笑)
May-chan's so ready!! I actually got the bunny ears a couple of years ago and finally remembered to take them out this year. Haha

今年のイースターディナーは、Andyっちが朝からスモーカーで調理したポーク、Hit-chanのコールスロー＆パン、市販のポテトグラタンでした。
This year's Easter meal was Andy's homemade smoked pulled pork, my special coleslaw & bread and potato gratin (a commercial product) . Andy woke up early and started smoking the pork that day. 

美味しい食事の後ちょっと休憩してから、めいの為にエッグハントをしました。
After we had the nice meal and a little break, we did an egg hunt for May-chan. 

ちなみに、昨年はまだ雪が残っていて家のリビングルームでエッグハントをするという、何とも味気ない感じだったんですが。。。
BTW, we still had lots of dnow left on the ground and did the egg hunt in the living room last year, which was less entertaining. 

今年は雪も少なかったので屋外。めい、色んな色の卵が転がっているのを見て大興奮。
This year there's not much snow on the ground and we did the egg hunt in the back yard. May-chan was super excited to find colorful eggs on the ground. 

流石5歳児、疲れる様子も見せず庭を駆け回っております。
Yeah, she's 5 years old and full of energy. She kept running around without showing any tiredness. 

次々と卵を見つけていきます。
She's finding the eggs one by one. 

そんな様子を大人たちは微笑ましく、ジッと見守っております。(笑)
The adults were watching her like this. Haha

３日前に作ったオラフ君も何とか生き延びており、卵を頭にのせてエッグハントを盛り上げてくれました。(笑)
Olaf, the snow man, that we had made 3 days before was still surving and assisted to entertain May-chan by hiding an egg on his head. LOL

途中、卵の在りかが分からなくてグランパ＆グランマにヒントをもらいながら、無事全19個を見つける事ができました。
She needed some help from Grandpa&Grandma to find some eggs, but could find all the 19 eggs in the end. 

家に卵を持ち帰って、雪や土で汚れていたのをキッチンペーパーで1個ずつ綺麗にします。
May-chan's wiping off the snow or dirt from the eggs on her own. 

じゃじゃーん！
Ta-da!!

中には、パウパトロールのシール、キティちゃんのスタンプ、ビー玉が入ってありました。
Inside the eggs, she found Paw Patrol stickers, Hello Kitty Stamps and marbles. 

エッグハントの中身を買ったのはHit-chanだったのですが、最近勉強のプリントをする時にできたらシールを貼ったり、スタンプを押したりして喜んでるので、イースター以降も役に立ちそうなものを選びました。(笑)
For the egg small gifts, I picked up something which would be still useful after Easter. May-chan uses stickers or stamps when she's done with her homework and plays with marble toys too, so they wouldn't go straight to a garbage can at least. Haha. 

こんな感じで、今年のイースターも皆で楽しく過ごす事ができました。
Like this, we had a great family time on Easter again!

Hello there!

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's your day going? 

今日のミネソタは快晴！最高気温も華氏73度（摂氏23度）と半袖でも大丈夫です。
It's such a beautiful day here in MN! The highest temperature is 73F (23C) and you can be fine just in T-shirt. 

めいがダディと植えたチューリップの球根も育って、今日の時点でこんなに大きくなっています。
（赤いのはどこに植えたか分かるように刺した印です。）
The tulips that May-chan planted with Daddy are growing well and they're this big as of today, April 14th. 
(The red stuff are the sign to tell where the tulips were planted.) 

一番大きく育っている茎を見てみると、蕾（合ってるよね？）が見えました。
Look! I found a bud (I hope I'm right.)  in one of the biggest stems. 

咲くのが今から楽しみです！
We all are so looking forward to seeing them blooｍ!!

さて、今日の一人日本滞在記でございます。
Okay, let me continue to talk about my Japan trip here. 

日本に帰国してから5日目のこの日、父の仕事（夜勤）が休みだったので、家族揃ってびっくりドンキーに行ってきました。
Day 5 of the trip, my dad had a day off (he works in the 3rd shift) , we all went out to eat at this famous and popular Japanese hamburger restaurant, Bikkuri- Donkey (English website)

もちろん、びっくりドンキーは有名でHit-chanが日本に住んでいた頃から人気のレストランという事は知っていたのですが、今の今まで行った事がありませんでした。
I knew about the restaurant from when I lived in Japan, but I'd never eaten there. 

両親もここ２、３年前までは一回も行った事がなかったそうなのですが、２、３年前に一度妹に連れて行ってもらってからはファンになったらしく、それからちょくちょく行っているそうです。
My parents hadn't eaten at the restaurant until a couple of years before, but my sister, Skatch, took them there once and then they really loved it. Since then, they sometimes eat out at the restaurant. 

妹2スカッチが運転免許を取って、連れて行ってくれるようになったのが大きいかも。我が家の近くのびっくりドンキーは車が無いと行きにくいからね。
The biggest reason why we didn't go to this restaurant was because we didn't have a car. So, since Skatch got her driver's license, it's become way more convenient to go to places where we couldn't go without a car. 

今回の一時国中、皆揃っての初外食です。
It was the first time for us to go out to eat together on this trip. 

本のメニューはありますが、注文はタブレット端末で。それにしても、メニューの数が多い！
They have a book menu, but you order on the tablet at your table. It's a big selection on their menu!

Hit-chanは初びっくりドンキーなので、一番の定番のチーズハンバーグ。
I was eating their hamburger for the first time, so I chose the most standard plate. 

調子に乗ってお味噌汁も頼んだら、結構なボリュームでビックリ。
I ordered a bowl of miso soup and was surprised by the big size!

もうあまり量を食べられなくなっている父と母は、ビールにこのご飯無しのハンバーグ＆エビフライセット。
エビフライをちょっともらって食べたけど、衣がサクサクで美味しかった～！
My parents who were saying, "We're too old to eat a lot anymore." chose this hamburger and shrimp combo without rice. I took some of the shrimp and it was so crispy and yummy!

辛いのが好きな妹２スカッチは期間限定のにんにく七味の黒麻辣ハンバーグ。
Skatch who loved spicy stuff chose this seasonal plate, a hamburger with garlic Shichimi (Japanese 7 spices) and Mala (Chinese spices) sauce. 

お疲れ～。仕事帰りに車出してくれてありがとう！
Thank you for giving us a ride after work, Skatch!

子供みたいな父は、久しぶりの家族での外食にテンション上げ上げ。ご馳走してくれました。ありがとう！
My dad is like a 10 year-old boy. He's super excited and treated us too. Thank you!!

Hit-chan、初びっくりドンキーでしたが、お店の中は子供連れの家族も多く、ファミリー層にも来やすい人気のお店なんだなぁと納得。
It was my first Bikkuri-Donkey, but I totally got it why they're so popular. They're so family friendly and I saw a lot of families dining there that night. 

初めて食べたハンバーグも美味しかったです。デザートも充実してるから、お茶だけしに来るのも良いかも。
The hamburger was pretty good too. They have a big selection of dessert too, so you can stop by just for a cup of coffee and sweet too. 

そして、帰りにコンビニ。意外や意外、帰国5日目にして、Hit-chan初コンビニでした。父に🍙3個買ってもらいました。ありがと！
After the nice family dinner, we swang by a convenient store. What a surprise! I went to a convenient store for the first time on Day 5 of the trip!! (Usually, you can't wait that long!!) My dad bought me 3 rice balls for the next day's breakfast. Thanks again! 

と、こんな感じで、帰国後初の実家にいる家族揃っての外食は楽しかったです。
Like this, the first family dinner on the trip was great and fun.

さて、一人日本帰国日記でございます。
Okay, here's another article of my Japan trip diary. 

日本に帰ってから4日目、この日は仕事を終えた妹2スカッチに母と一緒に地元のイオンモールに連れて行ってもらいました。
On Day 4 of my Japan stay, my sister, Skatch, and I went gave my mom and me a ride to a local mall after her work. 

そして、この日の夕飯はこちらで。
That night we picked up this restaurant for dinner. 

もりもり寿司
Mori Mori Sushi

今までもこのイオンモールに来るたびに前を通ってはいたのですが、実際入って食事するのは初めて。
I'd been to this mall and passed by this sushi restaurant a million times in the past, but it was my first time eating there that night. 

この日も「どのお店で食べようかなぁ。」と迷っていたんですが、スカッチが「このお店、金沢のお店やで。」と教えてくれたので、「お、それじゃあ、間接的だけどこのお店で食べれば少しでも地震復興のお手伝いができるかも。」と思い、決定。
I was actually having a hard time to decide what I would eat for dinner, but Scatch told me, "This restaurant's from Kanazawa prefecture." which made me think, "Oh, then if we eat here, we can somehow indirectly help the restoration in Tohoku area from the big earthquake and tsunami back in 2011. "

母も一緒です。
Cheese!

いやぁ、美味しかった～！
Oh my, the sushi was just speechlessly delicious!!

正直、今回の帰国最初のお寿司はくら寿司で美味しかったんですが、いやぁ、もりもり寿司、値段設定はくら寿司に比べて高めですけど、クオリティも高かったですね。
In all honesty, Kura-sushi that I enjoyed the first sushi on this trip was desent, but you know, Mori-Mori sushi was just phenomenal!! Of course, their price range was higher than Kura-sushi, but so were the quality and flavor. 

くら寿司はファミリー層に大人気という感じで、こちらもりもり寿司は「お金を出しても良いから、良いモノを食べたい。」というお客さんにピッタリです。なので、客層もくら寿司に比べて高めでした。
Kura-sushi was more family-friendly where you could casually eat with children and Mori-Mori sushi was more for someone who wouldn't mind paying more for something better. So, the customers at Mori-Mori sushi were relatively older than ones at Kura-sushi. 

Hit-chanの場合、もちろんくら寿司も好きですが、滅多に帰れない日本ではもりもり寿司を選んじゃうかな。
For my personal preference, I love Kura-sushi, but I'd definitely choose Mori-Mori sushi since I can't eat there so often. 

回転ずしだからすっごく気楽に食べれるのも有難いです。
It's rolating sushi, so you can enjoy very high-quality sushi in a very casual way, which I really loved. 

それにしても、今まで何度もお店の前を通っていたのに、とっても美味しいお寿司が気軽に食べられる素敵なお店だという事を今回初めて知りました。
Yeah, why didn't I try such a nice restaurant at all before even though I passed by them so many times??

「美味しいものをちょっとずつ食べたい。」と言うAndyっちにもピッタリだと思うので、ぜひ今度一緒に帰る時には連れて行ってあげたいなぁと思いました。
Andy loves eating a little of many kinds of higher-quality food in general, so I thought that Mori-Mori sushi was perfect for him too. I'm going to take him there on the next trip for sure. 

帰りは、一人だったら絶対しないUFOキャッチャー。
After the awesome dinner, we stopped by the arcade. I won't play crane games by myself, but I tried. 

スカッチの好きなキャラクターがあったので挑戦。
Because there's Skatch's favorite character in there. 

そして撃沈。そうだよね。
Then, I just lost some coins for nothing. Yeah, I knew that. 

と、こんな感じで家族で美味しいご飯を食べて幸せな一日でございました。
Okay, this is all about the night I discovered my new favorite sushi restaurant, which made me super happy.

Hi everyone!

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's everything going today? 

さて、今回の帰国の目的である体外受精の受精卵移植に向けてクリニックを初訪問した日。
OKay, this is about the same day that I visited the IVF clinic for the first time in the cycle, whcih was the main purpose of the trip. 

母も一緒に来てくれていたし、折角京都市内まで出て来たので、ちょっくら歩いてみる事にしました。
My mom kindly came along with me and we're already in downtown Kyoto, so we walked around the town a little bit. 

うわぁ、懐かしい！
Wow, this view was one of the throwbacks for me!

というのも、2018年に日本での最初の体外受精をした時は、Andyっちと四条烏丸からすぐのウィークリーアパートに滞在していたんです。
Andy and I stayed at a weekly apartment in the area when we did our first IVF back in 2018. 

この日は土曜日。夕方頃は結構人で一杯でした。
It was Saturday, so the town was pretty busy. 

四条通。この道、Andyっちと何度も歩きました。
Shijo-street. Andy and I walked on the street so many times in 2018. 

夜の鴨川。地元やからあんまり気づいてなかったけど、やっぱり久しぶりに来ると風情がありますなぁ。
Kamo-river at night. I hadn't noticed the beauty so much since it's too local for me, but yeah, I now know why people love Kyoto! 

この日は特に何かを見る予定は無かったので、藤井大丸に入っているHARBS（ハーブス）というケーキ屋さんで妹2のスカッチにお土産を買って帰宅。
We didn't have any plans particular in downtown that day, so we just got a couple of pieces of cake at HARBS for my sister, Skatch and then went back home. 

正直、Hit-chan、人混みも苦手で面倒臭がりなので、日本に住んでいる時もあまり京都市内に出かける事が無かったのですが、こうしてたまに帰国して街中を歩くと、それはそれで楽しいものだなぁと思いました。
Honestly speaking, I didn't go out to downtown Kyoto so often when I lived in Japan since I did't like hanging out in busy places and was lazy in general, but it was very nice to rediscover how fun it was to walk around in downtown Kyoto.

How are you doing today? 

さて、今日はまたひとり帰国日記に戻ります。
I'm back to my Japan trip diary today. 

京都に着いた翌日、特に時差ボケも無かったので、母の案内の元、地元の神社、ホームセンター、銀行、百均、スーパーと周ってきました。
On the next day after I got to Kyoto, I didn't have much jet lag, so I biked around my hometown with my mom just to check micellaneous spots and shops such as a local shrine, home improvement store, bank, dollar store or grocery store. 

この時活躍したのがママチャリ。父の自転車を借りたんですが、電動なのでめちゃくちゃ楽！
In Japan bikes are so convenient! I borrowed my dad's and his bike has an electric bike which was super easy to pedal!

百均などで早速爆買いして大満足でした。
I was so pleased that I bought tons of stuff at the dollar store and other places. 

が、ここでちょっとしたデジャブな事件が発生。
Then, a deja vu incident happened on this shopping trip with my mom. 

母と一緒に行ったホームセンターで母が自転車の鍵を紛失。
Which was that my mom lost her bike key at the home improvement center. 

前回帰った時にはスカッチが免許証と車の鍵を連続して失くすというハプニングがありました。
Yeah, on my last stay in Japan, my sister, Skatch, lost her driver's license and car key sequently on the same day when we went to a mall together. 

ホームセンターまでには自転車で行ったので、失くしたのはホームセンターの店内かその近くというのは確実。
Anyways, my mom and I went to the home improvement center by bike, so she lost her key inside the store or at the parking area. 

最終的にサービスセンターに問い合わせたらありました！入り口近くで落としていたのを、どなたかが拾って届けてくださっていたのです。（感謝）
She ended up finding it at the service counter and heard that somebody found it right in front of the entrance and handed it to the service counter staff. (Big thanks!)

どうも、Hit-chanが帰ると、皆「あれをしてあげよう。こうしてあげよう。」と、いつも以上に気をかけてくれるので、私としてはとても嬉しいし有難いのですが、普段しないような落とし物をしてしまうようです。(笑)
I guess that everybody tried to take care of me when I was back in Japan like, "Oh, she might like this. Yeah, I'll show her that." and tended to get more distracted than usual. LOL

とにかく無事に見つかって良かったです。
I'm so glad that her key was back anyways. 

それにしても、今年で69歳になる母、70歳になる父なのですが、2人とも電動自転車で仕事や買い物に行っているらしく、日本はやっぱり日常生活の中に程よい運動が組み込まれているんだなぁと実感しました。
BTW, my mom turned 69 years old and my dad turned 70 years old this year, but they both ride thier electric bikes for shopping or work, which reminded me that you could do some exercise just by having a daily life in Japan. 

その翌日の1月26日。
On the next day, Jan. 26th. 

この日は妹2のスカッチの仕事終わりに地元のイオンモールに連れて行ってもらいました。
That day my sister, Skatch, gave me a ride to a local mall after her work. 

もちろん実家の前からバスも出ているし、自転車でも行けるんですが、車で連れて行ってもらえるのでめちゃくちゃ楽です。
You can take a bus from in front of my parent's condo to the mall or bike there too, but driving there is the most convenient and easiest way. 

前日に爆買いしたところだったので、この日の買い物はDAISOなどをちょこっと見るだけで、一緒にご飯を食べる事に。
I already bought a bunch of miscellaneous stuff with my mom on the day before, so I just browsed a dollar store a little bit. Then, we walked to a restaurant for dinner. 

この日の晩御飯はくら寿司。
Yeah, it's one of the most famous, popular, reasonable and family-friendly sushi restraunt in Japan, Kura-zushi! There's one Kura in Mall of America too. 

前回2022年に体外受精をする為に帰った時には、「いつでも行けるし、その内行こう。」と思っていたら、あっという間に受精卵を移植して妊娠判定まで行ってしまったので、お寿司を食べ足りずにミネソタに帰ったんです。
On the last trip in 2022 before this, I was staying for IVF too and casually thinking, "Yup, I'm in Japan and can go eat deliciou sushi anytime I want!" Though, time flew and I did the egg transfer before I ate much of sushi at the time and had to come home in MN without eating enough sushi then. 
(Most of pregnant women in Japan avoid eating raw fish, so I tried not to eat any raw fish after the egg transfer.)  

そんな経緯があったので、今回は受精卵の移植の日までに好きなだけお寿司を食べようと決めていたのです。
From my past experience, I had decided to eat as much sushi as I liked befor the egg transfer on this trip. 

そして、日本と言えば色んなお寿司屋さんがあって選び放題ですが、今回くら寿司を選んだのは、Hit-chanの弟が高校生で始めたアルバイトから社員になって、今現在も頑張って勤めているからです。
Speaking of sushi restaurants, you can have so many options for it, but the reason why I chose Kura this time was because my younger brother has worked for them since he was in high school. 

スカッチ、帰る度に色々連れて行ってくれてありがとう！
Thank you for always giving me a ride to anywhere I want on my every stay, Skatch!

早速お腹いっぱい食べちゃうぞ！
Let's dig in!!

ミネソタではまぁ食べられない生タコ。めちゃくちゃ美味しかった！！
I don't see raw octopus in MN, so I picked up this one and it was so yummy!

この写真をミネソタのAndyっちに送り、飯テロを仕掛けてしまいました。(笑)
I sent a couple of pictures of sushi to Andy in MN, which made him hungry at 5 in the morning. LOL

お寿司屋さんでコーヒーとケーキも頂けちゃうのね。でも、このチーズケーキは味が薄くてイマイチだったかな。
You can have a cup of coffee and piece of cake at a sushi restaurant in japan, but the cheese cake didn't have much flavor. 

あとは、バレンタインデー前だったので、特設コーナーをチェック。
It was a little before Valentine's day, so we checked the seasonal section. 

もちろん、ミネソタもバレンタイン商戦で色んなチョコレートが売っているのですが、日本のチョコレートはパッケージだけでなく、チョコレートそのものの加工技術（キャラクターの形とか）が素晴らしくて、「クオリティが高いなぁ。」と感動しました。
Just same as Japan, you see a lot of candies and sweets for Valentine's day in MN, but the quality and techniques in Japan to make chocolates shape like anime characters (Hallo Kitty or Pokemon etc...) or something were phenomenal besides the well decorated packages. 

と、こんな感じで、実家に住んでいた頃のように過ごして日本滞在を満喫しておりました。
Okay, this is all about one of the days that I enjoyed with my sister just the way I used to with my family in Japan.
